We have a few customers that all do the same thing. Variable infomation on a cover sheet, usually their letterhead and then a 2nd static sheet on a different stock, and they want them stapled. Currently we run the 2 sheets seperately and staple by hand. Is there a way to have the machine do this using VIPP?
Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks! |

The simple answer is yes.
VIPP can control media selection and in-line finishing on a document subset. Note - although obvious I will state it. Although VIPP - the language may support a feature, if the printer cannot support it - VIPP will not make it work. A simple example is VIPP supports the color red, but a monochrome printer will not print red even if VIPP tells it. A more complex example maybe if your printer does not support subset finishing, then although we tell the printer where the set begins and tell it to stap[le - it will not. If your ssystem supports subset finishing, then it will honer the VIPP commands. Commands to look for are STARTOFSET SETFINISHING |
