Hi all..
I was hoping to use the BSTRIP command for my problem, but I'm not sure how (or if) I can combine this with a FROMLINE command. I need to place a possible negative sign (-) directly next to the leading number in total vacation hours. Some people have 200 hours, some people have 80 hours. If they borrow future vacation time, they could have a potential negative balance. HR wants the minus sign directly to the left of the first number. Problem is, my FROMLINE is looking at a field length of 6 characters (for a max of 999.99 vacation hours - wouldn't that be nice?) If someone has a balance of 40, then I'm plotting out x40.00, putting the minus sign to the left of X rather than 4. The minus sign is a different plot point on the same FROMLINE command. Anybody have any ideas? We're running 2 DT180 HLC printers and a Nuvera MX100. Thanks. -Mark |

Can you post an example of the line of data and the FROMLINE code. |

Data stream:
XXX *VOID*VO XXXX *VOID*VOID*VOID*V9999,999.99 *VOID*VO -999.99 Current FROMLINE: 19 FROMLINE [0 0 285 0 1595 40 72 1 /F2 BLACK] %NEGATIVE (if applicable) [0 0 322 0 1595 40 73 9 /F2 BLACK] %HOURS TYPE BALANCE Hope this helps.. This message has been edited. Last edited by: VippEyes, -Mark |

Could you try:
19 FROMLINE [ { (-@@#.##) FORMAT SH } 0 285 0 1595 40 72 10 /F2 BLACK] %HOURS TYPE BALANCE Does it fix your problem ? |

Sorry for the delayed response to your suggestion..this week has been crazy (as I'm sure most people can relate). I will try it sometime this week and let you know. As always, I appreciate the help..

You never cease to amaze me. Again, your help is MUCH appreciated. I just tried it real quick and it worked BETTER than expected. Obviously I need to polish up my VIPP skills, because that wasn't exactly a difficult solution. Thanks!! -Mark |
